Annaliese Avery
Annaliese Avery was born on the West Coast of England but now lives on the East. While homeschooling her three now grown-up children, Annaliese got her undergraduate degree in English Literature and Language and a Master's Degree in Creative Writing.
She has worked as a custodian at a castle, a library manager and at a global conservation charity. Annaliese has also taught Creative Writing and worked as a book editor for Children’s and YA books.
However, being an author is Annaliese’s dream job; she adores it and never wants to stop sharing stories with readers.
Annaliese writes fantasy fiction for a range of audiences; her first books The Nightsilver Promise and The Doomfire Secret, are for readers age 10+.
The Immortal Games and the best-selling Wycherleys series are for young adults. The Wycherleys was also the first ever YA Book of the Month for Waterstones in the UK and was YA Book of the Month for QBD books.
Annaliese’s books have been translated into eleven languages to date.
In 2027 Annaliese will make her adult debut with the first in a trilogy of cosy fantasy crime books - Murder She Invoked, publishing with Little Brown in the UK and under the name A. V. Avery she will publish the first in a new adult quadrilogy, Knight Club, publishing with Scarlett Press in the UK and US.
When not writing, Annaliese fails at trying to be athletic, though is determined to one day get there, and can often be found adding to her ever-growing stationery addiction or staring at the night sky.
Annaliese is a keen amateur astronomer and founded an astronomical society in 2013.
